Purple + Navy (and my top Gap picks!)

Purple and navy is one of my favorite color combos. They really just compliment each other so well and I hardly see them worn together. I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of navy sandals this season and to be honest, I’m actually quite surprised it’s taken me this long to buy a pair. Seeing how I wear navy on the reg, shoes to match should be a given.

So now, let’s talk jeans: Bottom line, I’m a huge fan of quality denim. I know a lot of people can’t really justify spending top dollar on premium denim and obviously that’s totally okay. There’s a lot of things that other people spend big dollars on and it makes me think, “what?!”, but hey, to each his own. The number one reason on why I love a great pair of jeans? They last longer. Yes, they do. They don’t wear out as fast after washing and the color maintains itself over time. If you care for them properly, they will be hanging in your closet for years. (Whether they still fit after all that time, well, that’s another story.) I would rather invest in a more expensive piece and replace it after a few years than wear it for one season and replace it in 6 months. Do the math! I’ll also try to do a post on cashmere here soon, too, since my theory works there as well. I always wait for a promo or a sale for these types of things and then stock up. Last season, during a 30% off sale items at J.Crew, I bought a few pairs of colored denim jeans for more than half off. I love the fit of J.Crew jeans and I hate to say it, but they have a Momma in mind when they design the cuts for each style. It’s never, ever too low of a waist and they are tight where they need to be and loose where they should be. They really have it down to a science. If you haven’t tried a pair on yet, do yourself a favor and head over to your closet Brick and Mortar store and see what you’re missing. See which pair work best for you! You won’t regret it.
