Tis the season for all things holiday – especially a festive party or two! I’m sure you’re also looking forward to a few upcoming holiday gatherings that might call for something just a little more exciting that your favorite pair of pair of jeans and cozy warm sweater. While I love my most laid back days a little more than I should, I also absolutely love getting dressed up for a night out to celebrate with my husband.
Let’s face is, with Ms. Ava and her sidekick Grace running the show lately, we really look forward to a minute or two here and there where we can reconnect without any interruptions for just a few hours. Do we miss them like crazy and talk about them both most of the time we’re gone?! Of course we do…but without any distractions. I’m sure all your mommas out there can relate.
Anyway, today I’m excited to share with you TWO fun holiday looks that might help you find a little something special and new for your upcoming events!
First up, I paired a black and white printed dress with a simple and sleek moto jacket. I was tempted to skip the jacket and grab a sweet little cardigan – but I just thought the leather jacket made this outfit just a tad more fun. Perfect for a holiday party that’s out on the town with friends! A little bit of versatility, though, like I mentioned and you could always swap out the jacket for a little sweater and even wear some black opaque tights if it’s going to be cold out, too! I love the subtle pleats in the skirt of this dress so much. It’s got a playful fullness to the bottom that is just so flirty and fun!
Second, I adore a midi skirt and there was something about the platinum and tulle on this skirt that I instantly fell in love with in the store. This pretty skirt is so festive to me and I love the way it moves and sways when I walk! I let the skirt be the center of attention and just paired it with a soft cashmere sweater, but I also think this skirt would look fabulous with dressed down a bit with a chambray shirt! Really perfect for any holiday occasion, including any New Years Eve plans you might have in the works! A swanky little blouse instead of a sweater and this skirt has some serious potential. And, again, with it being the most wonderful time of the year, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to pair this slightly one shaded look with a bright red heel.
Anthropologie : Dots Skirt (I’m wearing a size 2) | Sweater is old, try this, don’t forget the chambray when you’re dressing this skirt down later on! | Heels are old, try these, or these would be fun, too!
