A Beachy Tunic + Timeless Red

It’s almost time to hit the beach and if you’ve learned anything about me lately, it’s that I am going to need an army of cover up’s! Seeing how you won’t see much of my swimsuit, I’m constantly keeping my eyes peeled for cute pieces to go over my suit, but also to keep me cool. Nothing worse than being hot with no relief out in the sun.

While I look forward to J.Crew’s new arrivals all year long, I’m particularly fond of their annual cover ups. I think they manage to make the best pieces that literally go from day time straight to pool time. Their classically cool tops are so easy to toss on with your favorite pair of jean shorts and head on out the door. They do tend to be a little bit longer in length but because the fabric is so lightweight, you can easily work on perfecting the “half tuck” and this way, you can still see all the components of your outfit. We can now refer to this little look right here as my “summer uniform”. Done and done.

Even though I don’t talk about it quite as much as I talk about my love for all things cognac, I have a major weak spot for red. It’s such a beautifully rich color and I love the way it works all year long. These red sandals are absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait until they’re sitting nicely in my closet where they belong…
