Back to Basics is where I belong, friends.

I think what hits home the most with me when I am shopping for my closet all the time is whether or not I can buy something, wear it now and later, and know that the quality matches the cost.

While I wish I could invest in all areas of my wardrobe (accessories included, of course…), I have to pick and choose what means the most when it comes to paying top dollar and where I can afford to spend a little less for things that might not get used quite as much.

Today’s look brings together so many of my favorites and that’s why I titled it “Back to Basics”.  We have the investment shoes (which I bought a few years ago), a cashmere cardigan (soft and so versatile in both color and style), a simple black wool skirt, and the ever-reliable striped tee.  This red bag has been one of my favorite investment purchases this year, too, because while it’s so great right now in the fall and especially in the winter, I know for sure I can carry it all year long.  It’s a great little size and so easy to wear.

I would love about 15 variations of this look right here to wear all month long.  Skirts, Boots, and Cardigans are simply what defines me.
