Classic Cardigans and Heels + Valentine’s Day Inspo (..and more!)

Today’s post is all about who I am, to the core. Sure, I play around here and there in current trends and such, but a today’s look showcases pieces that are a part of the few that will always be in my closet, regardless of what’s “in style”.

First, a cardigan. I have more button down sweaters than I care to admit but what I will say is that I wear them all year long. I have every shade of the rainbow waiting and ready to go and match whatever outfit I’m wearing that day. Today’s sweater is great because it’s extremely lightweight and being basic navy, I find so many opportunities to wear it. Of course, over the past ten years, I’ve changed most of my cotton and wool sweaters over to cashmere for a few reasons. Aside from the obvious that it’s extremely soft, I also think it wears better and continues to have that “new” look even after you’ve worn it time and time again. Buying a few here and there, during the off season and when there is a promo, is the best way I can say to find those forever pieces for your closet.

Second, pretty heels. Booties, sandals, mules, espadrilles…love them all but it’s a classic pair of heels without the added flare that will always be in style. I prefer heels that are pointed or round, slightly patent – not too glossy or matte, and that always have a natural sole. (Unless we’re talking Loubs and then, well, you know…I wouldn’t turn them away!)

Skinny jeans are simply flattering for all shapes and sizes and a sweet little white, beaded blouse just make my inner preppy as content as can be…
