Remember how yesterday I said that my swimwear post was going to go live today? Well, turns out that the sets I was preparing on polyvore didn’t feel like cooperating and…I promise it will be ready tomorrow! Blasted technology, you win again.
Here is my back up post to share!
Even after all these years, I still love the simplicity of a classic look. I love flipping through the two binders I’ve created over the years that is filled with hundreds of pages of looks that I didn’t want to toss and forget. They are mostly from catalogs and magazines that I ripped out when I knew it was something I would want to recreate. I have friends that have told me that they, too, have created books filled with pages that inspire them. They might be pages of decor for their “forever home”, recipes that they can’t wait to test out, DIY crafts that they want to try with their children…and the list goes on. My binders are filled with clothes, hair cuts I take to my favorite stylist back home (ask for Kate C.!!!), and beauty tips that promise the fountain of youth. While my husband could probably do without the stack of magazines I drag into the house each week, I think he knows that flipping through these catalogs all while tearing out pages to save is what I like to call my “Happy Place”. And what husband stands in the way of such a thing? Not a smart one… Happy wife, happy life!
Even though I’m just getting my feet wet in this blogosphere, you’ve probably gathered that I’m quite a big fan of J.Crew. It also goes without saying that I’m pretty dedicated to their jewelry collection. Last year, J.Crew introduced the Lattice necklace and I swear to you that no sooner did they offer the multi colored and peach version of this necklace that it sold out before I could even virtually put that beauty in my shopping cart. I searched ebay only to find that some fun people were selling it for waaay more than it was originally priced. I couldn’t bring myself to be ripped off so I walked off empty handed. Well, when they came out with the crystal version of this necklace, it took me about one second to realize that even after all this time if I was still wishing that necklace was mine, I knew I had to buy it. As I promised, I always wait for a coupon code and I managed to scoop this necklace up at 20% off and it was worth every cent. It’s so pretty and I want to wear it all the time! Don’t be surprised it you see it gleaming in the sunlight with my University of Pittsburgh t-shirt and yoga pants while I’m at the park with Ava.
Here are a few pictures that we snapped outside over the weekend. It was super sunny and I’m going to have to break out my “SLR for Dummies” now to try and make these pictures a tad better in the future! Does anyone else have this necklace? Even more importantly, does anyone have a necklace similar to this one that we can share?
