Happy Friday, all! I’m so excited it’s finally the weekend! Ava and I have been busy plotting some fun plans for Curt and his birthday this month and we’re excited to spoil him a little bit over the next couple days. He’s such a minimalist so when we get the opportunity to treat him extra, extra special…we always jump on it.
My holiday inspired posts continue today and I guess the theme of the week should be…black and RED? How can we deny the power of red during the month of December? One of my favorite colors pretty much all year long but I surely like to give it a little extra attention when we’re all feeling a little festive.
I did a little shopping last week at NY & Company where I had fun trying on a few pieces from the Eva Mendes Collection. It’s packed full of so many holiday-rich colors and fabrics right now that are perfect for the season. Bright jacquard, festive sweaters, and dark rich lace, to name a few…
You probably already know that I love, love a midi skirt so I went straight for this beautiful red lace skirt and knew I was going to pair it with all black so it could really stand out. I love the pleats and how the red lace is popping against the black fabric underneath the skirt. It’s just so, so pretty. #love
Another one of my favorites, this bright red and pink printed dress that is insanely comfortable to wear. I love the 3/4 sleeves, the sweet cocktail length hemline, and even the subtle pleats along the collar. I really loved the way the dress flowed but the option to take a skinny belt to give yourself a more defined waistline would be another fun way to style this dress! I paired this dress with some black opaque tights and a fun pair of booties (both old, but try these printed tights and these booties – both on sale!). I think a leather moto jacket would be a fun and edgy spin on this look, too!
