Before I even start talking clothes, bags, shoes and the like, I have to share with you the highlight of my weekend! And unlike my husband, it had nothing to do with golf. As I sat down tonight to upload some pictures for tomorrow’s post, I noticed that I had a serious jump in traffic on my lil blog…on a Sunday night. Weird. I haven’t posted anything since Friday. My first thought was that my technology saavy 4 year old posted a bunch of selfies on my page. Trust me, it’s possible. Thankfully, it was nothing of the sort. What did happen was one of my FAVORITE big time blogs written by a sweet and small town girl had posted a link to my website on her page as a new and recommended read! I mean, honestly! If that’s not a great way to shut down the weekend than I don’t know what is! I just wanted to thank Erin so much for taking a minute to read my blog and then write about it on her own. If you’re a regular blog reader, than she needs no introduction but if you’re new to this whole scene, please check out Blue Eyed Bride and see what this awesome family is all about. Erin is an honest writer and she is kind hearted to the very core. I couldn’t encourage you more to click on over and see what she’s all about!
And you may have seen this posted on my blog Facebook page last week, but while I’m here, Jennifer, at Life in the Green House, also showed me a little love last week when she also posted a link from her blog to my own. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a part of this amazing community?! I’ve been reading these blogs for years and some of these girls have taken on somewhat of a celebrity status in my book. To have support from them as I start this new project is just downright amazing. It’s great to feel encouragement when you often find yourself being your biggest critic and for that I sincerely say thank you. You really don’t want to miss out on either one of these blogs so grab a cupa, sit back, and enjoy!
And now, onto the business!
After a relaxing and golf filled weekend, I’m so ready to kick off Monday with a fresh start. Curt was home all last week after an impromptu Spring Break and honestly, I think he’s ready to go back. He had a lil sneak peek at what life was like as a “Stay at Home Dad” and let’s just say I don’t think he’ll be itching to switch jobs with me any time soon. (Perhaps now he feels I need a pay raise? I like shoes…) But, it was really nice having him home and we’ll miss him tomorrow when he goes out the door! The scruffy facial hair he had all week? That I will happily say farewell to…
It was about 90* on Saturday and well into the 80’s on Sunday so I was feeling the need to wear some seriously bright colors. Mint it was! I love, love, LOVE a collared shirt and since I’m having a major love affair with these shorts, I felt they made a pretty sweet combo. The beauty of Vegas is we have zero humidity so while it does get a tad on the toasty side, I still felt comfortable in this shirt because it’s super lightweight and I didn’t have to wear anything underneath it. It was easy, breezy. As for the cognac leather pieces I paired with it, I just loved the way it broke up the ONE color I chose to wear so nicely. I could probably devote an entire section of my closet to items I’ve collected in this color leather but that’s a whole other post for a whole other day.
Here’s a few more pictures to see and the links for the look are at the bottom! (PS: Taking bloggy pictures can be awwwwkward so my smiles are all happily directed in the direction of my sweet Ava who’s running around like crazy while my fighter pilot husband snaps pictures at a mile a minute… I mean, who wouldn’t smile at that?!)
Happy Monday, friends!
