Holiday Red

I’m sure it’s of no surprise to you that I absolutely love wearing red, especially during the holidays.  Today, it’s all about black, white, and red – one of my favorite classic combos because it’s so easy and it always works.

My little red cross body was one of the best investments I ever made and while it’s been a great addition to my fall wardrobe, I know I will be using it all year long.  It’s always that perfect pop of punch, especially when my outfit can be quite monotoned.  And, while I’m out and about most days getting my errands done I do carry a Neverfull, anything outside of my mommy-wifey duties are usually celebrated with one of my favorite smaller sized bags.  Whew, I don’t even think I could fit all my daily essentials in a bag this small even when I was running around my college campus just having a grand and free old time!

Tweed is always going to be one of my favorite fabrics to wear in the fall and winter because it’s thick and full of texture.  This skirt has a little bit of a salt-and-better appeal, which I love.  It gives me the opportunity to just black out everywhere else, which is exactly what I did here.

My second look is just a small variation on what I did just a week or so ago.  I love, love gingham and honestly, I’m going to be fighting myself when I’m making new outfits over the coming weeks to not include it in something else.  Thank you, eternally preppy-self, for refusing to abandon your roots.  Oh, and we can include that little sweater shell in that thought, as well.  I mean, honestly.  Also – this little gem can be worn in the spring/summer all by itself.  Double duty, right there.

Tall boots and skirts have won me over, this is true.  I’m at the point now where tossing on some tights in order to keep the chill away is going to be come necessary but until then, here we go again!
