J.Crew: Field Jacket + Crystal

I think one of the main reasons I love the cooler weather so much is because I get the opportunity to wear all my favorite jackets all the time. You think I’m kidding…

This navy jacket is one of my absolute favorites because it can pretty much be worn comfortably for 3 out to the 4 seasons, unless you live in Vegas and winter consists of 70* in January and in that case, I’ve got this pretty little thing on rotation 365 all day, every day.

Maybe because it’s the perfect shade of blue or maybe it’s the shiny gold accents with the buttons and zipper, but I think this jacket falls under the category of classics and we all know I’m a sucker for something that will hang proudly in my closet for many years to come.

And while I could chat about this beauty all day long, I think what’s important to remember is that a jacket can become the finishing touch on an outfit that is otherwise anti-climatic on it’s own. Sure, I love jeans and slouchy v-neck as much as the next girl but tossing on that one extra layer made a pretty big improvement, don’t you think?

(I am loving this uber-cheap tee I wore underneath my jacket today and it was a steal from Forever 21! I bought a size medium to get that extra slouchy boyfriend look and while I’ve yet to wash it, I’m pretty impressed with the way it looks and feels! Of course, I’ll most likely wash it and then lie flat to dry…just in case it misbehaves in the dryer but for $6, it’s worth a shot!)
