With a new year upon us, I (like most people…) start thinking about all the changes I want to make in 2015. Some are big, some small, and some things I know are meant to stay the same. While there are so many reasons I love heading back east to visit my family each year over the holidays, one of my top 3 would be that I finally get to visit my favorite stylist at my favorite salon. I mean, I only see her twice a year so you can probably understand why this ranks so high on my list!
I know I’ve mentioned this in the past but I am tried and true to where I have my hair done…and it’s about 2,500 miles away from me. Yes, even though I’ve lived all over the world, I still wait until my next trip back to the east coast to have my hair cut, colored, styled…the works.
Why? Well, because Kate Curran at Avanté is my go-to gal. You would think that because I have such basic hair (straight, one color) that pretty much anyone would be able to get the job done but for me, it takes a little bit more than that. While I very rarely veer from my favorite style, Kate always makes me feel like I’m a completely different person when I walk out of the salon. She’s so talented in what she does and if I could, I would fly her out to Las Vegas anytime my hair needed a little TLC.
When I was home last in the summer, Kate and I decided that not only was I going to have my hair cut and reshaped but we were going to add little bit of overall color and balayage highlights. I haven’t put color (or highlights) on my hair in years but it really need a little bit more this time (…and maybe a gray hair here and there that just needed to go away!) and because I always trust her intuition, we went with it.
I think it goes without saying but there’s something so relaxing about getting my hair done…especially when I always leave there feeling so much better than when I came in that day. Of course, my time in-between appointments makes them all the more eventful but still, I just love when my hair gets a little facelift.
Kate’s vision for my hair was spot on in that the overall color and subtle highlights gave it just enough change for me to feel like myself, but still notice a big differences. I absolutely loved it. The cut, the color, the shine, the blow out…all as great as I expected and then a little bit more.
If you’re in the southeastern area of Pennsylvania and are either looking for a change or need a new stylist, I honestly couldn’t recommend Kate more. She’s a highly trained, skilled, and sought-after stylist and her reputation precedes her. I can’t wait to get back and in her chair – it’s always a highlight of my trip home!
You can book your appointment with Kate here (Avanté Salon, Exton PA) and be sure to tell her that I sent you! I couldn’t recommend her more and I know you’ll be hooked after just one visit. #promise
