Light and Bright for Summer

Keeping things light, bright, and easy is going to be my mantra as we try and make our way through June…July…August…if you know what I mean. I have my own little inferno that I’m so happy to be carrying around with me lately but let me tell you something, this little heater makes things just a tad bit toasty.

While I love a little shorts and a basic tee or tank any day of the week, I also love adding a small accessory to brighten things up a bit and keep it all looking a little too ordinary. Summer scarves are one of my go-to options when it comes to layering when it’s blazing hot outside. My fabric of choice is usually a super lightweight cotton or even better, linen. This scarf has just the right fit and feel for me but I’m especially loving the neon yellow and the bright blue.

If you’re wondering if I have these shorts in just about every possible color…the answer is yes. I bought them last year and snapped up all the new colors this year because baby or not – an elastic waist is where it’s at! At the risk of getting all “matchy-matchy”, the blue in the scarf matched just perfectly with the blue shorts and I couldn’t resist putting them together.

Finally – I’m sharing a new Stella and Dot piece today, too! Statement necklaces are definitely a big part of my jewelry collection but what seems to get the most wear anymore are the ones that are simple, pretty, and gold. I love adding a little bit of shine to my look but overall, keeping it as low maintenance as possible. This pretty necklace is light, dainty, but shines just about everywhere you go…the perfect little addition.
