A few years ago, you couldn’t have paid me to put on a pair of 7 in shorts. I think it’s the northeast girl in me, but unless you reach a certain age, these shorts were reserved for the ladies who were, well, older than me! Fast forward to a place called North Carolina and that all changed, and fast. These southern gals taught me a thing or two about style, that is for sure! I went back to work while we were stationed in North Carolina and I quickly realized that there was no way I could wear pants at work in the fall when it was still a steamy, hot sauna outside. I wore my fair share of dresses while I was there but being a Kindergarten teacher, I spend most of my days on the floor and there’s usually paint and paste involved somewhere along the way. I invested in quite a few pair of these bermuda style shorts and never looked back. What on earth was i waiting for?! While I still mix it up some these days with my lengths, whether my shorts are 4 in or 7 in I always make sure I’m comfortable and that everything is covered. (I’m on the shorter side at 5’2” so if you’re taller that me, obviously check out the 9 or even 10 in shorts to get that longer look! I put a few options below to see.)
I really love wearing these shorts with a wedge heel because they give my legs just a few extra inches but they also look fabulous with a flat or sandal. Versatile! I wore my white shorts with my favorite eyelet blouse where you recently saw here in white. I’m so guilty of buying things in multiple colors when I love them enough. I know some may think this is silly but I, in fact, think quite the opposite. If it works and you love it, go with it. No need to stress on finding something else when you already have what you’re looking for, right?! Of course, I’m sure I could do with just one…but that’s a whole other story.
