Maxi Love

Over Memorial Day weekend, French Connection had a pretty amazing sale and I picked up this really pretty maxi dress.  I’m obsessed with the pale lilac color and especially the print.  It’s really well made and could easily be dressed up or down.  There’s a skirt underneath the silk that stops right above my knees and the material is just sheer enough to show my legs below.  I LOVE.  I’m currently on the hunt for more maxi dresses just like this but a little more budget friendly.  I’ll share what I find, I promise!  I wish I had a wedding or something to attend this summer so I could dress it up for the night!  Seeing how my social calendar calls for no such dress code, I’ll surely wear it more on the casual side whenever I get the chance.

I finally went ahead and ordered this denim jacket from Gap about 2 weeks ago and after it took an 18 day trip across the United States, it’s finally hanging in my closet.  Ugh, one of the beauties of moving all the time means your “mailing address” could be a number of places.  Just another long story and I won’t bore you, but waiting 18 days for a jean jacket is a bit bananas.  Phew!  Thankfully, I love it.  It’s a softer denim and the lighter wash is absolutely perfect.  We all know I can put a jean jacket with just about everything.  EVERYTHING.  I’ve yet to convince my sister of their awesomeness but she’ll eventually cross over, I promise.

My Frye sandals are a few years old and if you’ve yet to invest in a pair of Frye…anything, I highly recommend you do!  They are, hands down, the most well made shoes in my closet.  I have numerous pairs of sandals, cowboy boots, riding boots…and each one is in as great of the condition as the day I got them.  A few years ago, my mom asked me what I would like for Christmas and when I said “Frye Boots”, but dad jumped in and said, “Did you just say Frye boots?!  I have a pair of Frye boots upstairs in the attic from college!”.  Like, if that doesn’t convince you of the amount of years you’ll get out of these shoes, I don’t think I can help you.
