Shades of Blue + Boden Spring

Even though it’s in the middle of January, Las Vegas has officially decided that it’s on the cusp of spring. I’m actually serious. We’ve been enjoying temps in the mid 60’s for the past 2+ weeks and according to the weatherman, there’s no end in sight. It does still get chilly in the evenings but the kiddos in my class are playing outside in short sleeves come recess time each day. It’s just so crazy for me because I remember being bundled up in snow pants AND boots up until the middle of March, at the earliest, when I was growing up in Pennsylvania! I can’t tell you how many birthdays we’ve have spent snowed in at home and missed out on the cupcake party we always looked forward to each year because of that one last snow storm that hit our town.

Oh well, one can’t complain too much about sunshine and 60 degrees, right?! Especially when it means I get an early crack at the spring arrivals that keep showing up in all my favorite stores. Just consider me your go-to-girl for test driving all the latest and greatest before you can wear it! As for this pretty little blouse, I’m gonna go ahead and give it two big thumbs up. It’s so light, airy, and I think it’s going to look so perfect this summer with white jeans or a cuffed pair of distressed denim shorts this summer. I love that it’s also a full sleeve length (closer to a bracelet sleeve…) and the delicate tie around the collar is just a little something extra in the details.

Well, as I sit here writing this post, I wish I could say that I’m off to bed just as soon as I finish but my sweet little Ava started to show signs of pink eye early this afternoon so I’ve made arrangements for a sub tomorrow and I think my other fellow teachers out there can agree with me in that we would always rather go to work and plan a day for a sub. ANYWAY, I hope the drops work quickly that we have saved up from the last time Ava had this lovely and ridiculously contagious virus. Here’s to hoping no one else in the house shares these germs!
