Well, that was quick! I’m not sure I’ll ever be used to such warm temperatures in the middle of winter! I swear, we may need to turn on the AC this week. I think more snow is headed to the east cost but as I was checking the weather for this coming week, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the highs reaching the mid 80’s for the next 14 days straight. So long, winter! It’s been real…
So, what’s new? We’re all moved in and had family visiting all last week, which was so nice. Curt and his dad golfed (a lot!) and went to the PGA event in Scottsdale, Ava and Grace soaked up all their Grandmom’s spoils and gifts, and I just loved having a little reminder of family (home cookin’!) and a few things that remind me of home on the west coast. It’s always the best treat when our loved ones take a break and spend their vacation time with us. They know our door will always be open!
I know I’ve been repeating myself lately but I’m really excited that I finally decided what I wanted and my new camera came this past week! Note – these pictures are with my old camera…which is why there are so few. We bought our first DSLR camera when Ava was born in 2008 and it treated us so well for the past 7 years. We never had any issues with it and up until about a year ago, it worked great! We stuck with Canon the second time around and while I didn’t go crazy, it is a slight upgrade. But, when we’re talking about replacing something that is 7 years old…that’s kind of a given. We went with the Rebel T5i and I even grabbed an extra 50 mm lens to help with my blog pictures. Curt and I played around with it this weekend and a friend of mine that we knew in Las Vegas (and fellow blogger!), Allison, is coming over to help me get a little more acquainted with this new piece of equipment and take a few photos while she’s here. Wish us (I mean, me) luck!

I would love to hear how you are liking your new T5i? I had an old entry level Canon Rebel and loved it and then upgraded to the T5i. I have had a really difficult time figuring out the focusing on this camera. For some reason so many of my pictures seem a tad bit blurry. Just wondering if you have experienced this?
Hi Stacy!!! WE seriously need to take a camera class or something. I watch youtube videos and try and play around with it but I’m still kind of lost. We do get a lot of blurry images and I’m POSITIVE it’s us, not the camera. Haha – I do think it’s a beautiful camera and has a TON of potential! I’m hoping to take a photography class this summer!!!!
