Spring Ready in Chambray + Jacquard

I really hope that with spring just around the corner that most of you are starting to get warmer days and have finally said goodbye to any and all signs of winter.  My word – I wasn’t even there for the storms in early March and was still sick of seeing it.  Us?  Well, it’s been feeling like spring for weeks now and as a matter of fact, we have some days in the 80’s already and being a northeast gal, that’s early summer weather for us!  I can’t complain though.  I’m just 22 weeks pregnant and let me tell you, I have zero desire to by one piece of maternity pants.  It’s so dang hot here in the summer I will be wearing loose dresses from start to finish.  Phew!

If there’s one thing I love about the return of my spring and summer wardrobe, it’s chambray!  It’s just a great alternative to the thicker, darker wash denim that we’ve all worn into the ground over the past few months and while I love the lighter rinse, it’s the lighter weight fabric that really makes me happy.  These drawstring shorts are perfect for my belly now and, of course, later.  Can I get an “Amen!” for elastic waist bands?!  #amen

Along with some fresh denim, there’s always going to be room for a new spring jacket!  This soft, cotton jacquard jacket is such a great transitional piece.  I love the subtle print in the fabric, the stretch all around, and the creamy ivory to bring all these neutrals together.  Definitely also a huge fan of the moto style as opposed to just a flat front jacket, too.  It also comes in blue.  #yesplease

Spring break is just around the corner and I’m getting really excited for a little R&R with my family!  What are you plans this year?  Lay low or skip out of town??
