Summer Skirt + Booties

First, my heart is so heavy for those who were closely affected by the massive tornado that tore through Oklahoma yesterday. I was literally glued to the TV and at times had to walk away when they were showing the rescue efforts in the elementary school that was completely destroyed. As a mother and a teacher, I felt panic coming over me just watching and listening to the witnesses recall what they saw. It was just too much. I have lifted up and will continue to say prayers for all that are grieving the loss of a loved one, their homes and irreplaceable possessions, and their hometown.

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m starting the week off with a few outfits focused around my favorite summer colors, white and blue. With Memorial Day just around the corner, I’m sure we’re going to be seeing just about everyone (who hasn’t already…) out and about in their whitest of whites.

In Las Vegas, I’m preparing for some sky high, record breaking (for me…) temperatures over the coming months and with that, I’ve got things like shorts and skirts on my mind. I’m also finally coming around to the romper and when I stumble across the perfect one (ie: not too short) I will pass on the good word.

I also have a feeling that my favorite booties that I picked up last fall are going to be making appearances as much as they can even with the warmer days on the horizon. I really love this look because the booties I chose are so light in color, that they don’t cut me off at my ankle as much as they would if they were a darker, or even lighter, color. They blend well with my skin tone and because of that, I really love wearing them.
