The Denim Jacket

I have a confession to make in that I am OBSESSED with my denim jacket. I wear it most days of the week and feel like because of this, I’m ready to add a second one to my inventory. The beauty of a jean jacket is that it really goes with everything. No really, it does! Think about how often you wear jeans and you’ll know what I mean. Jeans go with everything therefore the jean jacket goes with everything…so simple! Unfortunately, I’m not one of those “denim on denim” gals so inspiration for that look is probably going to need to be found elsewhere.

My go-to jacket is from the juniors section in Nordstrom and I love it, love it, love it. You can check it out here. It runs true to size but keep in mind that I’m only 5’2″ so this jacket might not have the same fit on someone who’s significantly taller. It’s a snug fit and works so well with skirts, shorts, maxis, dresses…and the list goes on. I really can’t stop thinking about this one either, so you’ll probably see me sporting it in the near future. The distressing on this new jacket is something that’s really appealing to me as the one I already have it a little more uniform in color.

Last week, Loft had an in-store 50% off sale and I completely scratched my original plans for the day so I could run down and check it out. They had also just ran a 50% off online sale a few days earlier that I already took advantage of but I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything! Priorities. (But, at 50% off, can you blame me?!) Like the jacket I wore in this post from Loft Lounge, I paired the fleece skirt from the same line with my jean jacket and it is nothing short of amazing in fit and comfort. And we already know how I feel about the color grey…so this buy was a no brainer. I paired it with a vintage white tee and my new favorite Cece flats from J.Crew. The hot pink shoe takes an otherwise plain color palette and spices it up a little, don’t you think? I’m still loving my new Mini Brompton and thought it went perfectly with my laid back look.
